Our story

MRAEL was established to respond to youth unemployment and skills shortages, with a clear focus on creating opportunity through meaningful work and training. Founded as an apprentice employment service, our purpose from the outset was to help people gain skills and support employers to access job‑ready workers.

As workforce needs evolved, so did MRAEL. Our services expanded beyond apprenticeships to include employment pathways, training delivery, vocational education and wrap‑around support — recognising that sustainable workforce participation requires more than placement alone. This integrated approach allows us to respond to complex needs, remove barriers and create pathways that support long‑term success.

Today, MRAEL is a not‑for‑profit organisation delivering apprenticeships, employment and support services across Queensland and New South Wales. As part of the IntoWork Group, we combine strong local delivery with national capability, remaining focused on our purpose — creating opportunity, supporting people at every stage of their working life, and helping build a skilled, inclusive and sustainable future workforce.

What we do

Our approach brings together apprenticeships, employment and support to respond to real‑world needs, create long‑term outcomes and strengthen communities.

Apprenticeships

We employ and support apprentices and trainees across a wide range of industries, partnering with host employers to deliver quality, supported apprenticeship pathways. Our focus is on building skills, confidence and capability, ensuring apprentices are well supported throughout their training and into meaningful careers.

Employment

MRAEL supports individuals to access employment opportunities while helping employers meet their workforce needs. Through employment services, training delivery and career pathways, we connect people to work and help businesses build job‑ready, future‑focused workforces.

Support

We provide personalised, wrap‑around support that removes barriers to participation and promotes long‑term success. This includes career advice, education support and community‑based programs that address complex needs and strengthen participation for individuals and families.

Our impact

Who we support and how we create impact

Our impact is measured by the outcomes we create for people, employers and communities. By combining apprenticeships, employment and support, we address complex workforce challenges and help build stronger, more inclusive and sustainable participation in work and education.

We support people at different stages of their working lives to build skills, access employment and achieve long‑term success. Through personalised pathways and wrap‑around support, we help remove barriers and create real opportunities for participation and progression.

We work in partnership with employers to build skilled, job‑ready and future‑focused workforces. Our services help businesses meet their workforce needs while supporting retention, capability and long‑term sustainability.

We strengthen communities by improving workforce participation, supporting inclusive growth and delivering programs that respond to local and emerging needs. Our not‑for‑profit approach ensures impact is reinvested into people and places, creating broader social and economic benefit.

Through collaboration, innovation and a strong focus on social impact, MRAEL delivers outcomes that extend beyond individual programs — contributing to economic participation, social inclusion and a skilled workforce that supports thriving communities now and into the future.
