As part of International Women’s Day, we are proud to share the story of Taylib Glover, whose journey with MRAEL in Emerald is a powerful example of resilience, dedication and personal growth. Taylib began her Certificate III in Business in February 2025 as both an employee and trainee with MRAEL. Although her formal training started slightly later than expected due to a delayed RTO sign‑up, she approached her traineeship with genuine enthusiasm and a strong desire to develop her skills.
Those early weeks presented real challenges. Her first training unit was a workplace safety module, which required considerable focus and time, and she was also settling into a busy new role within the organisation. Balancing these competing demands meant she needed to learn quickly and manage her workload carefully. Despite this, she stayed committed and continued building her knowledge and confidence.
A few months into her traineeship, Taylib learned she was expecting her first child. Managing her studies, work responsibilities, medical appointments and the effects of pregnancy required determination and adaptability. It would have been understandable for her to pause her traineeship, but she continued moving forward. She completed units from home when needed and remained engaged with her team, demonstrating a strong commitment to finishing what she had started.
During this time, Taylib became an important part of the MRAEL Recruitment Team. She contributed to day‑to‑day operations, supported colleagues and took responsibility for coordinating the weekly Friday Job Drops for both MRAEL and HTN, which are part of the IntoWork Group. Her willingness to take initiative, combined with her positive approach, made her a trusted and valued team member. She continued contributing right up to her final days before maternity leave.
Taylib completed her traineeship on 2 February, with her last working day at MRAEL on 20 February. Shortly afterwards, on Saturday 28 February, she welcomed her baby girl, Aaliyah Ann Glover, marking a joyful beginning to a new chapter in her life.
Her supervisor, Jessica Benjamin, shared how meaningful it was to watch Tay’s development throughout the year. Jessica described it as “the highlight of my year watching Tay grow and develop in her role. She has jumped at every opportunity with such enthusiasm, and it’s been a joy to see her truly come into her own. Seeing her transform from a trainee into a confident and capable team member who takes the lead has been incredibly rewarding. I’ve loved being part of her journey and watching her skills and confidence soar, not only within recruitment, but as a key contributor to the wider business.” Jessica added that while the team will miss having Tay around, she knows Tay will continue to excel in her new role as a mum.
Taylib’s journey reflects the heart of International Women’s Day — creating fair and supported opportunities for women to learn, grow and achieve their goals. Her experience shows how determination, encouragement and accessible pathways can help women overcome challenges both at work and in their personal lives. We are incredibly proud of everything she accomplished during her traineeship and wish her all the very best as she begins this next chapter with baby Aaliya.
