MRAEL delivers government programs that help eligible participants build skills, confidence and pathways into employment or further training through practical, locally delivered support.

This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative.

Certificate I in Construction

Certificate I in Construction

A no cost, 10‑week Certificate I in Construction program delivered through Skilling Queenslanders for Work, providing hands‑on training, job‑ready skills and coordinated work experience in Acacia Ridge and Bracken Ridge.

Engineering Apprentice

Certificate II in Engineering Pathways

A no cost, 9‑week Certificate II in Engineering Pathways program delivered through Skilling Queenslanders for Work, providing hands‑on training, job‑ready skills and coordinated work experience at Acacia Ridge.

Women in Construction

A no cost, 11‑week Women in Construction program delivered through Shaping Futures, supporting eligible women aged 25+ to gain job‑ready skills, confidence and a Certificate II in Resources & Infrastructure in the Gladstone region.

Eligibility

Eligibility depends on your circumstances and the program offered. The information below will help you understand who these programs are designed to support.

Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs are available to eligible Queensland residents who are currently unemployed or under‑employed and need support to build skills and improve their employment opportunities.

You don’t need to be completely out of work. These programs generally support people who are unemployed or working limited hours and looking to move toward sustainable employment.

Eligibility varies depending on the specific Skilling Queenslanders for Work program. Some programs are designed for young people, while others support adults, including women returning to the workforce or people looking to reskill. Eligibility will be confirmed during the application process.

No previous qualifications or industry experience are required. Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs are designed to support participants at different starting points by providing practical training and job‑ready skills.

Yes. Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs delivered by MRAEL are offered at no cost to eligible participants, as they are funded by the Queensland Government.
