YHARS for young people

Supporting homeless young people

The Youth Housing and Reintegration Service (YHARS) supports young people aged 12–21 across Rockhampton and Central Queensland who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.

Practical support when it matters most

Delivered by MRAEL Shaping Futures, YHARS is a free and confidential service providing youth‑centred support to help young people access safe accommodation, stay engaged in education, training or employment, and build the skills needed to live independently and positively within their community.

YHARS works alongside young people to address the challenges that can make it hard to stay housed, engaged in learning, or connected to work. Our youth workers provide practical, strengths‑based support that’s tailored to each young person’s situation and goals.
